“Parental involvement is critical to the educational success of our community,” said Jose Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. “Through the Parent Award, we want to highlight the parents and have them share in the outstanding accomplishments of their children as well as serve as sources of inspiration to other parents in their communities. We are grateful to Pearson for recognizing the importance role all parents play in supporting the brilliant young minds we need to move our country forward.”
“We are honored to support the 2017 Youth Awards and pay tribute to the Latino parent community,” said Maria Alexandra Velez Henao, Vice President of International Government Relations at Pearson. “We understand that all parents are unified by a common desire to do what’s best for their children and we recognize the crucial role they play as often their child’s first and most important teachers.
